In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
64. [Mûsa (Moses)] said: “That is what we have been seeking.” So they went back retracing their footsteps.
65. Then they found one of Our slaves, unto whom We had bestowed mercy from Us, and whom We had taught knowledge from Us.
66. Mûsa (Moses) said to him (Khidr) “May I follow you so that you teach me something of that knowledge (guidance and true path) which you have been taught (by Allâh)?”
67. He (Khidr) said: “Verily! You will not be able to have patience with me!
68. “And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not?”
69. Mûsa (Moses) said: “If Allâh will, you will find me patient, and I will not disobey you in aught.”
70. He (Khidr) said: “Then, if you follow me, ask me not about anything till I myself mention it to you.”
71. So they both proceeded, till, when they embarked the ship, he (Khidr) scuttled it. Mûsa (Moses) said: “Have you scuttled it in order to drown its people? Verily, you have committed a thing “Imra” (a Munkar – evil, bad, dreadful thing).”
72. He (Khidr) said: “Did I not tell you, that you would not be able to have patience with me?”
73. [Mûsa (Moses)] said: “Call me not to account for what I forgot, and be not hard upon me for my affair (with you).”
74. Then they both proceeded, till they met a boy, he (Khidr) killed him. Mûsa (Moses) said: “Have you killed an innocent person who had killed none? Verily, you have committed a thing “Nukra” (a great Munkar – prohibited, evil, dreadful thing)!”
75. (Khidr) said: “Did I not tell you that you can have no patience with me?”
76. [Mûsa (Moses)] said: “If I ask you anything after this, keep me not in your company, you have received an excuse from me.”
77. Then they both proceeded, till, when they came to the people of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused to entertain them. Then they found therein a wall about to collapse and he (Khidr) set it up straight. [Mûsa (Moses)] said: If you had wished, surely, you could have taken wages for it!”
78. (Khidr) said: “This is the parting between me and you, I will tell you the interpretation of (those) things over which you were unable to hold patience.
79. “As for the ship, it belonged to Masâkîn (poor people) working in the sea. So I wished to make a defective damage in it, as there was a king after them who seized every ship by force.
80. “And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared lest he should oppress them by rebellion and disbelief.
81. “So we intended that their Lord should change him for them for one better in righteousness and near to mercy.
82. “And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the town; and there was under it a treasure belonging to them; and their father was a righteous man, and your Lord intended that they should attain their age of full strength and take out their treasure as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of those (things) over which you could not hold patience.”

Mu’adh bin Anas (MAPH) reported: The Prophet (SAWS) said: “The one who suppresses anger and has the power to give effect to it, will be called out by Allah, the Exalted, to the forefront of the creatures on the Day of Resurrection and he will be asked to choose any of the Hur of his liking”. (Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi)
Abu Hurairah (MAPH) reported: “A man asked the Prophet (SAWS) for an advice and the Prophet (SAWS) said: “Do not get angry”. The man repeated that several times and he replied: “Do not get angry”. (Al-Bukhari)
Commentary:
1. Rage which is declared objectionable is the one which concerns worldly affairs but that which is for Allah and His religion, that is to say, which occurs on the violation of the Injunctions of Allah, is meritorious and essential.
2. Anyone who gets furious quickly should be advised again and again to control his anger so that he becomes concious of this weakness and tries to overcome it.
3. Rage is a means of fulfillment of satanic aims; so it is a great evil and people are advised to make every effort to prevent themselves from this satanic device.
4. The Hadith mentions the distinction and reward of self-control of a man who, in spite of being powerful and having the means to avenge, suppresses his fage and does not exercise his power.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
27. And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islâmic Monotheism) from the Fire!
28. Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, as Mufsidûn (those who associate partners in worship with Allâh and commit crimes) on earth? Or shall We treat the Muttaqûn (pious – see V.2:2), as the Fujjâr (criminals, disbelievers, wicked, etc)?
29. (This is) a Book (the Qur’ân) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.
Sura 38. Saad

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
The rightly-guided ruler Umar bin Abdul-Aziz – who was also considered to be an Islamic jurist – said in his last sermon: “O people, indeed, you have not been created without a purpose and you will not be left alone without being held accountable. And you have a final destination, where Allah will judge among you. He will indeed be the loser who is outside of Allah’s Mercy, which comprehends all things. He is the loser who will be forbidden from Paradise, whose width is as the heavens and the earth. Know that safety tomorrow is for he who fears his Lord and sells a small amount to achieve abundance – for he who sells that which is perishing for that which shall remain… I say this to you, though I do not know of anyone among you who has more sins than me, and I ask Allah to forgive both me and you.” Such was the humility of good doers who were practicing Muslims. And indeed Allah’s Mercy is near the good doers.

Ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (May Allah exalt his mention and protect him from imperfection) said: “All of you are guardians and are responsible for your subjects. The ruler is a guardian and responsible for his subjects; the man is a guardian of his family; the woman is guardian in her husband’s house and responsible for her wards; a servant is guardian of his master’s property and responsible for his ward. So all of you are guardians and are responsible for your subjects”. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Commentary ~ The wealth of the soul

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
The Caliph Othman Ibn Affan (May Allah be pleased with him) said about the richness of the soul:
“The wealth of the soul puts the soul above all need, even if poverty bites hard causing pain.
Any difficult period, endure it with patience even if prolonged, because it is not made to last and ease necessarily will follow.”
